He's Gone.....

WELL, the day came and here are the pictures to prove it. The day all parents teasingly "dream about"! The kids leave the nest. I gotta tell ya, it aint no picnic! It was 0600 when Bub pulled out of the drive way but before he did Hailey told him to wake her up so she could say goodbye. I tell ya those 2 are closer than they act, lil Hailey who was excited to be "the only child" was in TEARS...her Brother was leaving and she was lost...

Bubba is headed to Eastern Oregon University to become a Personal Trainer. He is studying Physical Education with a Minor in Business. He is going to be a Mountaineer. He was okayed for the Football team and scheduled to leave September 24 to report for the team, THEN THE CALL CAME IN.... Coach Camp wanted him to report for Team Camp which moved his departure date up SIX WEEKS!!! TODAY!!!! It's not known if he will Red Shirt this year or if he will make the team but he has an extra 6 weeks of showing what he's got on the other kids! :)

I believe that he has enough underwear, socks and clothes to last him till Christmas when he can come home. *grin* SO... I guess all parents go through this sadness of will they remember what they were taught about how to behave, how to make wise choices, being careful, managing money, GIRLS???? UGH!!!!! Bub is SUCH a good kid and didn't get in to trouble, did some DUMB stuff, but chalk that up to being a kid, nothing to get him thrown where I can see him everyday! LOL

Thanks to all my friends who have been here for me during the countdown to D Day... I cried myself to sleep last night, Dave lost some sleep but held it together pretty well this AM as I had to be able to comfort Hailey as she is pretty torn up! SO... in 4 years you will be seeing another post just like this one when my Baby leaves...

Take care my friends....

PS A Happy post will be here on Saturday when I load my 2nd Guest DT Tryout pic for Hanna Stamps! ;)

Oh my gooooodnessssss.I am bawling like a baby here. Kelli I am so feeling every emotion of yours right now. Wow. I can tell you that he will do so well in life, he's so darn cute, and that he's so well prepared for what lies ahead thanks to you and Dave. I love that Hailey woke up to see him off, they are going to get even closer through the distance. I just want to read your post over and over so I can prepare myself in 4 years when Kalil drives off to his future. HUGE hugs KJ. You'll be hearing how much fun he's having and feel better about your little boy's venture in the big world. And btw, he'll be awesome in football, I can't wait!

It all passes by in a blink doesn't it? One minute they're born, next thing you know they are starting Middle School, then they graduate and head off to college. I am very excited and proud for Bubba that he got called up early to play. That is super awesome! I love that Hailey got up early to say goodbye. So sweet...

Congrats to you on such a wonderful job and I have to admit, I am impressed you could write all this. without shorting out your computer from the tears.

Love ya KJ, and many HUGS to you!!

Kelli Jo hugs to you on this significant emotional event. I totally understand and even when my 2 kids come home to visit and leave again it is still hard. You stand back and say "where did the time go"? They grow up so fast!
